Having gained an honours degree in Business Management, I am a Business Development Advisor in the Social Enterprise team at BRAG Enterprises. My role involves providing support and business advice to emerging and existing social enterprises in Fife. I have been involved with Suit & Pace from the beginning when Beth and Andrew came to BRAG looking for business advice and with a keen interest in the project, I joined the board of directors in order to provide strategic direction.
Sarah is the Chair of the Suit and Pace board.
I am a native of Leven, attended Strathclyde University and taught English for 38 years, mainly in Kirkcaldy schools. I curl in the winter and bowl in the summer, and love retirement for all of the opportunities I now have to travel.
I am the owner of Bright Writing and provide professional writing, copywriting and editing services. My professional qualifications include an MA Hons in Medieval History from St Andrews, a PGCE in Primary Education from Moray House and a Diploma in Freelance and Feature Writing from the London School of Journalism. Before starting up Bright Writing, I was Primary Education Officer at the Design Council Scotland for three years, and then Head of Publishing at Learning and Teaching Scotland for 12 years. I have a particular interest in education in all its various shapes and forms, and am delighted to be a member of the Suit and Pace Board of Directors.
I have directed and performed in comedy and theatre in Edinburgh and London. By day I’m a web developer, but outside that I usually have an interesting theatrical or writing project going on.
James kindly designed the fabulous Suit and Pace website!
